1. Who We Are

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is made up of the ten Greater Manchester councils, the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and the Mayor of Greater Manchester. We work with other local services, businesses, communities and other partners to improve the city-region.
2. Summary of the use of the Database
- Applications will be collected via the Production Fund website and dedicated email then stored in a secure SharePoint folder.
- Applications will be reviewed by an investment panel, comprised of GMCA Officers and GM Local Authority representatives.
- We will use your personal data to contact you regarding your application.
- If your application is successful, we will share information from your application with 3rd parties, required Legal services, who will be delivering wraparound support as part of this programme. These third parties may use your personal data to contact you in order to deliver these functions.
- We will share information with fraud prevention agencies that will use it to prevent fraud and money laundering and to verify your identity.
Analytics

3. What information we will collect from you (the purpose and legal basis for processing information)
As part of the application process, we will be collecting the following data from applicants:
- Business Address
- Contact Email Address
- Contact Telephone Number
- Name of day-to-day contact
- Company financial information
- Any additional personal data submitted in the project description
- The GMCA will process all data according to the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
- The lawful basis that applies to this processing is Article 6 (1) (e) of the UK GDPR; that processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.
4. How we ensure the security of your data
- The GMCA is committed to the security of the information we collect, and we use reasonable measures to prevent unauthorised access to that information. We are required to demonstrate that our solutions meet the required levels of personal, procedural, policy, data, and technical security. We will only process personal information for the purposes it has been collected or subsequently authorised.
- Information stored in SharePoint will be held securely with access restricted to authorised personnel only, using appropriate permissions and security controls to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
5. Information retention
- The GMCA will keep your information for 7 years after closure of the fund
- All records will be destroyed in accordance with GMCA policy. When relevant this will apply to external legal support and Local Authority reps on the Investment Board.
6. Transferring data
All data collected as part of this project will remain in UK.
7. Data sharing
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties.
- We may share information where required by law or where necessary to protect our legal rights.
8. What rights do individuals have?
The GMCA must comply with the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Under data protection law, your rights include:
- Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
- Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
- Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
- Your right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
